Don't Go On SNL Again

music ashlee simpson
Yeah:

ASHLEE SIMPSON. your sister is hot, but you are not. she may be annoying, but she’s still hot. she has a great voice even though her songs now sound like an overzealous christina aguilera. you don’t have a voice. it goes from nasally to a man’s voice. your songs sound like you ripped off parts from other songs and combined them together. they are very irritating. don’t act like you’re punk when you’re not. you look like you’re jumping around on knives in your videos. you & your sister looks you’re trying to swat flies when you perform. or maybe you’re muscles just spaz randomly. please don’t go on SNL again.

Eminem iPod Ad A Ripoff?

music eminem
We were thinking the exact thing a second ago:

The new iPod ad starring Eminem bears an uncanny resemblance to a 2002 ad for Lugz, a brand of hip hop footwear.

A Search For Songs

music christina aguilera
I find lots of good second hand CDs at Spun.com.

Yet there is one or two I can not find that remain illusive. In Christ Alone written by Stuart Townsend and Keith Getty and the version of Amazing Grace sung by Christina Aguilera.

Patti LaBelle Riff With Def Jam

music nelly
This sounds like a terrific show.

They must be 'deaf' at Def Jam if they can't hear me!" Such was the gist of legendary singer and class act Patti LaBelle's defiant stance against her former record label, Island Def Jam Records, and its president, L.A. Reid, this weekend. The occasion, an all-star birthday celebration for LaBelle's 60th, was staged in the main theater at the lavish Atlantis Hotel and Casino in Nassau. UPN taped the show for airing in November. The glorious night of music reunited LaBelle with former groupmates Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash for their immortal hit "Lady Marmalade." It also featured rapper Nelly with Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child (they do a version of Patti's hit "Love, Need and Want You"), Ashanti, Gerald Levert, Yolanda Adams and Michael McDonald. Don't miss this show when it airs next month.

Unethical Advertising?

mona lisa janet jackson
Amazing how long the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction persists in the blogosphere.

* Current advertising primarily focuses, directly or subliminally, on sex, power, self-glorification, and greed. While we get appropriately angry about Janet Jackson’s nudity on prime-time TV, we don’t make much of sensuous women in suggestive attire hawking pizza, autos, and widgets. Similarly, why aren’t we more upset about all the new car and truck advertising? Such ads fuel the greed of millions of people, driving them and our nation ever deeper into irresponsible spending and debt (not to mention the fact that they shift our focus from the Creator to the created–in a sense fostering a form of idolatry.)

iPod Rant

music eminem singing
Some good points about the iPod.

Basically if your not brain dead, or if you didn’t fight in ‘Nam and loose half you’re hearing, when you sit down with any decent stereo or headphones (not the cheap Plaskool ear buds Apple throws at you) you’re going to notice that AAC has a very limited capacity, its going to drive you mad if you have any musical taste. Sure you might be able to listen to you’re favorite Eminem cd you bought on iTunes without noticing anything, but really the only people who listen to to this kind of music all the time are the ones blasting it through there Sony 18″ headphones because somehow they got it into their heads we like Rap, and we enjoy hearing about a white man beating his wife.

Thank You Hilary Duff

music hilary duff cindarella story
Teeny bopper's delight.

i am such a teeny bopper. i saw “a cinderella story”, the hilary duff movie, tonight and it brought back all those high school feelings. all that innocent, superpassionate perfect romance is so something that i want. hilary duff captures the feeling perfectly in the movie — it’s the same feeling i got from mandy moore’s “a walk to remember”.

How To Make Me Leave Your Website

music eminem
It's so confusing to have a music surprise from a website.

Most of the time when I’m at my computer, I have iTunes playing. So when I go to a website to read something and music starts playing without me telling it to, I get very annoyed. Because there’s not much worse than David Crowder and Eminem trying to sing overtop of each other.

True Love

music beyonce dancing
A little long, but we like the idea.

Beyonce should change the title of her song “Crazy in Love” to “A Complex Protein has been released in my brain, so my inhibitions have been lowered towards a particular person, and so I’m behaving a bit crazy towards him.” Just an idea.

The Sanctity Of Marriage

music britney spears dancing with columbus
And the point is this:

5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
