Nice write-up on Burt Bacharach, but I'm not sure I ever thought pop music was my enemy.

Pop music is not your enemy. While the word “pop” conjures up horrible images of Christina Aguilera succubizing the nation, or Hilary Duff playing Lolita in the rain, there should be another connotation that the word derives. Pop should conjure images of sophistication. Pop should conjure images of a certain attitude of “too cool to rock.”
