I just finished watching the Aussie MTV Awards, and the show was pretty average really. I mean, the show can't be taken as a serious awards thing - but, that's a given with the MTV attatchment; but, even the show wasn't very exciting. The Veronicas performance of When It All Falls Apart was sooo shit because of terrible sound problems; still, I'm not discouraged 'bout their gig (which is only 11 days away!) - I'm really looking forward to it. James Blunt gave a very sweet performance of You're Beautiful, staring directly at the camera for most of it, his eyes are so sincere. End Of Fashion gave a solid rendition of O Yeah; making me look forward to their gig even more! Strangely enough, though, the stand-out performance (in my opinion) was from the ceremony's host: Ashlee Simpson - singing Boyfriend and L.O.V.E. She really got the crowd going. Oh, and when The Darkness performed I Believe In A Thing Called Love; that was a good set, too.

Ashlee Simpson? Ok, that shot my theory to hell. Please don’t tell me I look like her? Then I got Katrina Kaif and was like, um who the hell is she? OHHH, a model? Heh, sure. I can sooooooo see the resemblence there! I rock.

Drew’s career is definitely in an upswing now. Rumor is, MTV is trying to set him up with Ashlee Simpson, have them get married, live in a house in Calabasas and tape the whole thing. Insider’s are telling me that Drew is all about the concept but Ashlee is a little bit worried that the show might ruin her career……that was a joke. Get it?

You are probably familiar with the retail strategy of putting tempting items in or near the checkout line. Crowded around the register are always magazines, gum, refreshments, candy, or whatever else a smart person decides will be likely to break down your willpower. So as I checked out of Best Buy with some gifts for my family last night, I noticed there were albums in the line and thus enjoyed some insight into what people want to hear (or at least what store owners think they will be most likely to open their wallets for). What albums does a clever stock clerk decide are the most apt to tantalize the aural palette? First there was Ashlee Simpson (fair enough, she’s certainly got some catchy tracks), then Santana (haven’t heard much about this latest effort, but I hear it’s a dry imitation of Supernatural. Still a fair choice for something a fan might decide to add to the cart). Finally, prominently displayed, was Mr. Scott Stapp.

ASHLEE SIMPSON. your sister is hot, but you are not. she may be annoying, but she’s still hot. she has a great voice even though her songs now sound like an overzealous christina aguilera. you don’t have a voice. it goes from nasally to a man’s voice. your songs sound like you ripped off parts from other songs and combined them together. they are very irritating. don’t act like you’re punk when you’re not. you look like you’re jumping around on knives in your videos. you & your sister looks you’re trying to swat flies when you perform. or maybe you’re muscles just spaz randomly. please don’t go on SNL again.

So I went to the salon today and asked for Ashlee Simpson's hairstyle. I am not a fan of Ashlee Simpson or her music, but her hair is the best thing going right now as far as I'm concerned. The hair cut turned out well... I'm happy with it.

Ignoring the irony of a solar-powered iPod charger sold by a band hailing from the land of perpetual gloom (also: bad weather), we feel this co-branding establishes a frightening precedent for slapdash, slap-on marketing that will take a product we like—and we do like the Solio just fine—and turn it into something we'd be a bit embarrassed to have around. Unless they make an Ashlee Simpson rechargable Ni-Cad battery system, which would be so great omg.

According to Reuters Viacom is quietly freaking out as they ratings for MTV's new shows aren't doing nearly as well as the veteran shows they're replacing. "Meet The Barkers", "The Ashlee Simpson Show", "Power Girls" , and "Trippin" are not bringing the heat like, "Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica" and "The Osbournes."

Speaking of La La: I'm not much of an Ashlee Simpson fan, although, like with her sister, I'm a big fan of her tits. I enjoyed the Pieces of Me VIDEO. With the sound OFF. I never advocate censorship, but I'd relax my views if that song was going to be banned. Where was I? Ah, yes. La La. I like that song, it's catchy, and it has the words La La in it. I'm sucker for la la la or yeah yeah yeah. And man enough to admit it.

This Spoof of the Ashlee Simpson Show makes me smile, even though I’ve never seen the actual show, but nonetheless.

So are they back together or is this just a case of two ships crashing, er, passing in the night? Lohan's rep is quick to dismiss the lip-lock talk, insisting to People, "They're just friends, but they're happy to see each other." Valderrama, who has recently been linked to Lohan's friend Ashlee Simpson (the singer's flack says there's "nothing romantic" going on), also denies the romance has been rekindled, adding that he's just too darn busy for a girlfriend right now.

Well, with re-runs of the Ashlee Simpson Show occupying a large portion of time slots on MTV I thought I’d take a second to talk about the phenomena of public personality and redemption. We all remember the SNL and Orange Bowl incidents, but few know about the other incidents on her recent tour.

Though she's only 20 years old, Ashlee Simpson has garnered nearly as much fame and criticism as most singers twice her age.

Most of us remember her as the pop act who got caught lip-synching on "Saturday Night Live." Lip-synching is the dance pop equivalent of steroids and as such is not that big a deal for a pop act. The trouble is her Daddy manager positioned her, the "other sister," as a rock act. Although it was smart to contrast her newly dark Jan Brady with popular sister Jessica as Marcia, positioning Ashlee Simpson as a rock act was not. Unfortunately for Simpson, rock acts are still expected to have some integrity, especially live.

The lyrics on Ashlee Simpson's infectiously spunky, chart-topping "Autobiography," the singer says, "are exactly my story up until the point that I was at when I wrote the record. I wanted to say exactly who I was and what I was going through and kind of where I was at that point."

Ashlee Simpson will step up to the mike tonight at the Benedum.

On the surface -- or below the surface for that matter -- Jill Scott, Nelly and Ashlee Simpson don't have much in common. But in a rare cosmic occurrence, these stars have aligned this week and are all performing concerts at Detroit's Fox Theatre. Catch 'em while you can; like Halley's Comet, this may not happen again for another 76 years.

It has been almost six months since the lip-synch that was heard around the world. And Ashlee Simpson, who was caught using a "guide vocal" during her Saturday Night Live appearance last October, addressed the situation early in her sold-out show last night at Massey Hall.
