Christmas Song Ideas?
Here's what I'm looking for...I like traditional Christmas songs, though newer ones are okay, too. Y'all know I don't believe in secular/sacred so any classification is fine. I like the blues--a lot--I like folk music (also a lot), I particularly like music by popular artists that one might not associate with Christmas music (for example, The Barenaked Ladies, Natalie Merchant, Avril Lavigne (who has a kick ass version of O Holy Night), Bob Marley, etc...)

Avril Lavigne's Stalker Jailed
30 days in jail is a small price to pay for Avril Lavigne’s stalker. The interesting part of this story is that the stalker is married and that his wife encouraged him.

Avril Spotted
The crowd was packed with three basic types: bridge and tunnel veterans like myself who wore the grooves out on Jet Boy while sneaking into Max's Kansas City to see the Heartbreakers; old punks and glamsters still "living the life" and looking like a band of walking dead boy Stiv Bators-like grandfathers with dyed black Keith Richards hair and wrinkled leather; and the youngsters in awe of the greatness and in search of the soul font of New York rock, including Avril Lavigne, who shimmied up front with her posse.

My 2004 Mix CD
I decided to try my hand at Rich Thomas’s End of the Year Mix CD Challenge. However, I haven’t added a whole lot of music to my library this past year due to running low on disk space at work (where I do most of my listening — thank goodness we’re due for new machines any day now). Rather than put some fringe new stuff, like Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan, I figured I’d throw in some of my all-time favorites.

Went to See Avril in Concert
Click through for full review.Today we went to watch the Avril Lavigne concert. She so rawks. Pug Jelly (I think) opened for her. They were pretty good. This is my first time hearing their music. They sound a bit like Simple Plan meets Green Day. Too bad we were in the seated area so we couldn’t stand up and have fun, but it was still better than standing at her last concert, cos I could only see the back of the tall dude in front of me. She opened with He Wasn’t. While she was singing Together and Forgotten, she played on the grand piano. I had no idea those...

That's The Ticket
Yeah, so my holiday wasn’t too exciting. I finally bought an Avril Lavigne concert ticket yesterday (Yay!) so I’ll definitely be attending her concert on the 10th of May at the suprisingly small Westridge Park Tennis Stadium. And yes, it’s on the same day as my sencond Applied Maths test. The test however finishes at 7pm and the concert officially starts at 8pm so I’ve got an hour to get there. I’ll probably leave as soon as the test is over. I’ll phone and prebook a Mozzie Cab or something before the test starts.

Playlist Anxiety
However, I am secure with my own playlist. Yes, that's right, I have both the Dawson's Creek soundtracks and I like them. Eve 6? Yup, like them too. Lilith fair soundtracks? A necessity of life. Avril Lavigne? Okay, I have no justification for that, but every girl's got to have a guilty pleasure or two.

Avril Misprint
My pal Randall from Hong Kong emails me:
"Hey Tian! Avril Lavigne was recently promoting in Hong Kong for an one-night show. She obviously had help from someone with a magic marker. Thought you'd be interested to see it. Cheers."
The phrase 日本最高 on Ms. Lavigne was correctly written, but for a WRONG country.
日本 = Japan
最 = most, extremely, exceedingly
高 = high, tall; lofty, elevatedIt is translated as "Japan is the best".

New Twist on Old Game
There are different versions and volumes, depending on the console, but all of them use a microphone for a hilarious karaoke experience. You can either entertain (or punish) your friends by going straight karaoke, or play the game's challenge modes, which are amazingly well done. Sing well (meaning you've timed the words perfectly and haven't been too loud or too quiet), and you win over the crowd and unlock new levels. Sing poorly, and you'll get drowned with boos. Very American Idol-ish, and great fun for a party of kids or adults. You can even compete online with Xbox and download new songs, which, depending on the version, range from classics like New York, New York and Love Shack to more current faves from Avril Lavigne, Hoobastank and Michelle Branch.

What Kids Are Listening To
Singers often just dip a toe into the kiddie pool, like Avril Lavigne recording "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" theme. But there are rockers who dive in headfirst like the Giants, who have released two kids' albums.

Teaching Teens to Value Money
The same fate does not await the teen who can't afford a ticket to the Avril Lavigne concert, although she is likely to grimace, clutch her chest and gasp, much like a person in the throes of heart failure. Entertainment is a "want."

Avril lands Cosmo cover
After gettin into pissing matches with fellow pop divas Britney Spears and Hilary Duff, Avril Lavigne still can't find anything good to say about her musical contemporaries. Cosmopolitan magazine's April issue, now on newsstands, features Lavigne on the cover. Inside, she is asked the question, "Is there any singer your age whom you like or respect?" Lavigne has one simple response:
