Pink Panther

music beyonce steve martin pink panther
Beyonce definitely sings better than she acts.

Pink Panther~ I thought it was cute...i probably wouldn't see it again but it was very funny and it had Beyonce in it so naturally it was entertaining. I saw it with Stuart and an entourage of friends so naturally, it was pretty awesome for me. All in all, it was very cute but if you are looking for something with even just an ounce of intellectual depth steer clear of this one! (maybe you would like new world...there are plenty of scenes where nothing is going on for you th ponder hte mysteries of the earth).

White Chicks

music beyonce cosmo cover
Does Beyonce pass?

So, I reach into the mailbox today and grab the mail, some “have you seen me” crap and a magazine, it wasn’t mine, it was Micki’s so I didn’t pay much attention. On the elevator ride up I look at the cover, it’s Cosmo and I’m thinking, wow that is a cute white girl. I get to my place grab my keys, sling the mail on the counter and take off my coat and shoes, grab a stool and a beer and decide to find out who this cute white girl is. Some may have issue with my “cute white girl reference”, so that will be addressed in the second part of this blog. I scour the cover and low and behold it’s Beyonce Knowles. Now this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this– it seems her ethnicity varies depending on what magazine she’s on or in. There’s white Beyonce and Black Beyonce. I’m not pointing the finger at her, I’m pointing the finger at Cosmo, the bible of European beauty, and Vanity Fair, etc., the magazines that make the girl up to look like a white woman to don the cover of their magazine. Now some may say Beyonce is damn near on the cusp– but being a yellow Negro in the know– there’s no way in hell she’s passing.

Review: Street Wars 9

music beyonce jay-z
No one safe around P Cutta.

Now let’s talk about this Big Sty fella. In case you weren’t aware of homeboy, he put out ‘Its A Problem’ a few months ago (its included here) which dissed um… everyone! In ‘How To Rob An Industry Cat’ style, Sty throws mud at Jay-Z (“since Beyonce been sucking your dick, you got soft as a bitch”), Nas (“tell em they shootin’ I hope you can dodge one, you God’s Son? well I’ma make you see God son”), 50 Cent (“you shit blew not because of your rhymes, cos in every interview you say “I got shot nine times”), Ja-Rule (“that ‘Clapback’ shit is manure, still doing love songs for those little TRL viewers”), as well as G-Unit, Bravehearts, Eminem, Nelly, Chingy, Busta, Missy, Pharell, and Rocafella and Bay Boy Records. His short ‘I’m Sorry’ follow-up is also included here, which sees him dangle apologies out to everyone he offended… and then snatch it back and add an additional ‘fuck you’.

True Love

music beyonce dancing
A little long, but we like the idea.

Beyonce should change the title of her song “Crazy in Love” to “A Complex Protein has been released in my brain, so my inhibitions have been lowered towards a particular person, and so I’m behaving a bit crazy towards him.” Just an idea.

Beyonce Siting

music beyonce at awards
Thought you'd like this one:

Okay, I didn’t really have lunch WITH her, but she was sitting at a table close-by and was easily viewable from our table. Needless to say, Beyonce was absolutely smoking hot! She actually looked better in person than any picture or video I’ve ever seen of her. Just a natural beauty. Good thing we didn’t notice her sitting there until half-way through our lunch, because we all would have been gawking the whole time (a Bad Thing).

Show The Mojo

music beyonce cover
Wish this blogger did bring a digital camera!

I went to Chicago over the 4th for a friends wedding, which was a blast. He lives in the heart of Chicago, on the 52nd floor overlooking the entire city. I would post pictures, but I didn't have my digital camera and I'm waiting to get the pictures sent to me by those that did have cameras. I will say this much, one picture might be of me proving that I've got mojo by doing an impression of Beyonce's boodie shakin on stage with a large black woman that was singing at Chicago Blues. I was called out, and after seeing the guy before get ridiculed for refusing to show his mojo, I figured a little on stage boodie shakin was in order.

The Dawn Of The Massive Rhetoric Era

music beyonce destiny child
Analysis of Live 8 here:

-If you don’t know yet, its U2’s world and the rest of us are just living in it. Sorry P. Diddy, 50 Cent, Beyonce, Jay-Z, you don’t have the bling or the rap to even get on the same stage as the boys from Dublin. Hell, Bono could probably buy all four of your record catalogues with his pocket change.

I heard that Bill O'Reilly said Bono should get the Nobel Peace Prize. Go figure.

One problem with keeping the business in the family:

Beyonce Knowles has given her manager/father Mathew Knowles his walking papers amidst charges of harassment from one of her dancers, according to sources. Meanwhile, contacts close to his label Sanctuary Urban Records Group say Mathew has been AWOL from the office for about a month, leaving the imprint in complete disarray and its parent company Sanctuary in charge of day-to-day decisions.

Beyonce Eyeing Dreamgirls Adaptation

music beyonce
Actually, Dreamgirls seems like a great project for Beyonce.

The musical, said to be based on the Supremes' career, followed three friends who strike it big as a singing group. Beyonce knows a thing or two about singing groups, so this project could be classified as "being in her wheelhouse." Alternately, it could be noted as "not much of a stretch."

Who wouldn't want to go to a wedding that featured Beyonce and Jay-Z?

Well because I am really sick, and not like last week, I tried to book a room at the exclusive hotel in Nice, France and you guessed it all the rooms are booked. If this is a true story than all I have left to live for as far as celebrity weddings go, is my fave couple Beyonce & Jay-Z. I am hoping to be rich and well connected before they get married so that I can get into the event!

Review: Fighting Temptation

music beyonce fighting temptation movie
You can leave your eyes at home, but don't forget your ears when you go to this movie.

The Fighting Temptations is a movie starring Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Beyonce', and I'm going to give it a "highly recommend". The movie is nothing to write home about, but the music is divine.

The O'Jays, Beyonce', The Blind Boys of Alabama, Faith Evans, Melba Moore, Rev. Shirley Caesar, and Missy Elliot all sing complete gospel (and a couple of rap numbers) songs, and make the poor plot completely irrelevant. If you love good toe-tappin' music, this is a movie for you.

Too Much Jewelry, Not Enough Music

music beyonce
Good review:

Well, Beyonce again. And she’s wearing an entire Cartier store around her neck. I’m not actually hearing a note of this song, because it’s so god-awful middle-of-the-road in its Andrew Lloyd Webberesness. Just a boring, boring mess of a melody with gratuitous key changes and stuff. And now they made her be greeted by some schmoe in a Phantom costume, and . . . isn’t this song over yet? No? I’m just going to pretend it is. It’s better for all involved.

Amerie's "One Thing"

movie star beyonce curly hair
Beyonce's producer may have a new talent:

This is the only thing on pop radio right now that stops me from flipping stations. It's produced by Rich Harrison, the same guy who did Beyonce's epochal "Crazy in Love." He also did the new J-Lo single, but we'll forgive him for that. Harrison's trademark is to start with a red-hot sample, crank it up in the mix, and force the vocalist to dance around it. J-Lo's overwhelmed by the sax riff in her single, but Amerie does an amazing job bouncing off the thrilling drum riff in "One Thing," sampled from an old Meters track. The mix is pretty bare bones - mostly the sample, the vocals, and a single guitar chord played once each key change. What makes it work is that Harrison lets the drums, not the vocals, take the lead. At one point, in fact, Amerie just drops out for about 30 seconds, so we can just enjoy the killer riff.

Who knew...

Mariah Carey Gets Beyonce's Photographer

music beyonce album photo
The expensive photographer didn't work out for Mariah Carey, so she ended up with great results from Beyonce's photographer instead. At a good price!
I heard a rumor that the cover of Mariah Carey's new album was actually shot for less than $5K. Well sort of. Apparently, there was a previous photo shoot for the cover and the record label spent a fortune on it, hiring one of the best photographers money can buy! But after reviewing the results, they decided to sack the photos. Since they had blown the budget, they had to lure another photographer, but all they had was money for his expenses, i.e. airbrushing! Not surprisingly, the photographer they lured was the same guy who shot Beyonce's last LP. Hello.

Watch out Beyonce. Moby on the loose!

MOBY is waging another war of words with BEYONCE KNOWLES after criticising the DESTINY'S CHILD star for teaming up with designer TOMMY HILFIGER to front a new cosmetic line.

The outspoken dance music star, who has been feuding with rapper EMINEM for years, accuses Knowles of "gratuitously" lending her name to Hilfiger's new fragrance TRUE STAR.

He rants, "I see so many public figures just gratuitously lending their names to products that I really don't understand.

"I just wonder why, like, Beyonce's doing this Tommy Hilfiger thing, and isn't it enough to have $50 million? Do you need $51 million?"

Beyonce Offends French at Oscars?

music beyonce yellow
I'll have french fries with that Beyonce song.

Actress JULIE DELPY has accused BEYONCE KNOWLES of offending her fellow French citizens - by "murdering" their language during her performance of VOIS SUR TON CHEMIN at last month's (27FEB05) OSCARs.

The BEFORE SUNRISE beauty was disgusted by Knowles' rendition of the Gallic song, from hit movie LES CHORISTES (THE CHORUS), because it sounded like she was singing in Chinese.

Delpy complains, "Beyonce singing in French - it sounds like she's crooning in strong Chinese

"I swear to God, to French people it was like being stabbed in the heart."
