Pearl Jam's Latest Single
This is always good news to hear, Pearl Jam's single "World Wide Suicide" has done very well on the billboard charts. This is good for a plethora of reasons, the one I care about the most is the ability for bands such as Pearl Jam to distribute their material without a major label. Of course the need for music publishers will never disappear, but maybe we would get less Christina Aguilera's, Britney Spears, N'Sync, Backstreet Boys, (Need I go on?) if bands can begin to sucessfully market themselves. Of course if alternative methods never emerge, no major distributors could hurt choice, but I'm certain that there will be new distribution channels on the internet to help get good names out in the world so we get have a litte more choice on who we want to listen to.

You Know What I Mean
Oh and I downloaded the Christina Aguilera Christmas CD, too and well this girl has a voice, but I totally understand what Kelly Osborne was talking about when she made fun of her christmas CD. It is not a disgrace to sing and hold a note. Not each and every note has to be - what is the word in english? - you probably know what i mean.

Burt Bacharach
Pop music is not your enemy. While the word “pop” conjures up horrible images of Christina Aguilera succubizing the nation, or Hilary Duff playing Lolita in the rain, there should be another connotation that the word derives. Pop should conjure images of sophistication. Pop should conjure images of a certain attitude of “too cool to rock.”

Woman vs. Woman Prime Time
Granted, there are shows that portray women positively–but they’re in the minority. RA between ‘tweens and teens competing for a boy is one of the most common situations I hear about–is it any surprise when TV, movies, magazines, and music relentlessly pit women against each other? Last year it was the “clawfest” between Christina Aguilera and Kelly Osborne that made news; this year it’s the “catfight” between Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson.

Pussycat Dolls
There is, if you didn’t know, a new musical incarnation of the Pussycat Dolls–the Hollywood cabaret act that’s been drawing attention outside L.A. in recent years for their notable guest stars: Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Carmen Electra, etc. They’ve recruited at least one singer in hopes of cracking the pop music market. She is flanked by seven to twelve dancers/backup “singers.” I can tell you quickly why they have no hope as a musical act:

American Idol Recap-Week 7
Uh oh. Vonzell is singing a ballad, "I Turn To You" by Christina Aguilera. This is a HUGE tactical error. We like upbeat, fun Vonzell, not torch singer Vonzell. And not just that, she's also having problems hitting the notes. It was a rough performance.

Christina Aguilera Dress Code
Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera's dress code can be seen in the streets of Southern California, as you can see in the photo. I guess they think it's cool.....right down to the label showing....California women have such class(not)!Sorry just couldn't help rubbing that in. After my last entry about the the dudes in their 'cool' attire, I just had to put in some feedback for the way women dress here as well.
